Practical guide
Create QR code for business card
Create a vCard QR code for your business card so contact details can be saved directly on iPhone or Android after scanning – no app, no typing.
Open vCard QR Code GeneratorReady immediately
Enter contact details, check the QR code, and download the file.
Made for print
SVG for business cards, flyers, and print files; PNG for digital use.
Private in the browser
The static QR code is generated locally. Your contact details do not leave the browser.
How a vCard QR code works on a business card
A vCard QR code stores contact details in a smartphone-compatible format. After scanning, the phone offers to save the contact directly to the address book.
Which contact details belong in the QR code?
For business cards, fewer clear fields are better than an overloaded QR code. The more content you add, the denser the code becomes.
- Name and optionally title or role
- Phone number, preferably with international prefix
- Email address that will remain valid
- Company, job title, and business address if relevant
- Website or profile with more information
SVG, PNG, or VCF: which format should you use?
For printed business cards, sharp edges and reliable contrast matter. Always test the QR code at the final printed size.
SVG for print
Best for business cards because the vector graphic stays sharp at every size.
PNG for digital
Good for email signatures, websites, or previews. The 1024×1024 file also works for many simple print cases.
VCF as contact file
The VCF file contains the same contact details and can also be sent or saved directly.
Static or dynamic QR code?
A static vCard QR code stores the contact details directly in the code. It works without a server and is very private, but cannot be changed after printing. If you need editable details later, use a dynamic QR code with a URL.
Scanning with iPhone and Android
On iPhone, the Camera app is enough. Most Android camera apps also detect QR codes directly; Google Lens works as a fallback. After scanning, the phone offers to save the contact.
How large should the QR code be on a business card?
As a rule of thumb, 2.5 × 2.5 cm works well. If you include many contact details or use low contrast, make it larger.
Can I print the QR code in color?
Yes, as long as contrast stays high. A dark code on a light background is the most reliable choice.
Does the person scanning need a special app?
No. iPhone and most Android phones recognize vCard QR codes through the camera or Google Lens.
